Professor of Archaeometry, specialized in the use of Natural Sciences applied to Cultural Heritage issues regarding dating, analysis, prospection, archaeoastronomy, environmental reconstruction etc. Leader of National and EU cofunded Projects, Member of Editorial Boards of several international Journals. Several Distinctions (European Academy of Sciences, French Academy of Sciences, Arts et Belles Lettres at Dijon, Intern. Archaeometry Award etc). The recent innovative methods concern the dating of ancient monuments (surface luminescence dating) and Obsidian hydration dating by ion beams. Cited in Scopus for more than 250 publcations and books.
